Chief Minister Hands Out Appointment Letters to 332 Fresh Health Employees

In a ceremony at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan within the Chief Minister’s camp office in Dehradun, Pushkar Singh Dhami presented appointment letters to 332 newly selected personnel for Uttarakhand’s health sector. The cohort includes 271 candidates for the AYUSH division and 61 allopathic pharmacy officers attached to the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme.

Dhami congratulated the inductees and called on them to discharge their responsibilities with empathy, commitment, and a deep sense of public service. He stressed that an appointment letter is more than a document—it signifies the start of a duty to uplift the lives of citizens, especially those who depend heavily on government health facilities.

Direct Benefits for Public Health

The newly inducted AYUSH and ESI staff will operate on the front lines of Uttarakhand’s healthcare network. In many remote hamlets, patients travel long distances to reach the nearest government hospital, hoping for skilled and compassionate care. The chief minister highlighted that the attitude, responsiveness, and efficiency of these workers are crucial for maintaining public confidence.

He urged the recruits to set a positive example at every posting, reminding them that each patient arrives with hope and that timely, honest assistance can transform a life.

Transparent, Merit‑Based Hiring

Dhami pointed out the state’s recent initiatives to make recruitment transparent and merit‑driven, including crackdowns on cheating rings and the introduction of a new anti‑copying law. He noted that over the last five years, more than 35,000 young Uttarakhandis have secured government jobs based on their abilities and hard work.

Uttarakhand’s Aspiration as an AYUSH and Wellness Hub

Uttarakhand has long been synonymous with yoga, Ayurveda, and medicinal herbs. The administration is now positioning the state as a flagship AYUSH destination and a global wellness centre. Plans include extending AYUSH services to every district, modernising Panchakarma units, and setting up Ayurveda Utkarsh Centres.

Digital health is also gaining momentum: the e‑Sanjeevani platform enables remote specialist consultations, while the Ayush Setu portal offers a suite of online services. Additionally, several homestays have partnered with nearby Ayurvedic facilities, allowing tourists to experience yoga, Ayurveda, and Panchakarma during their stay.

ESI Healthcare Now Covers All 13 Districts

The ESI scheme, previously limited to six districts, has expanded to all 13 districts of the state. A 100‑bed ESI hospital in Rudrapur is already operational, a 300‑bed facility is under construction in Haridwar, and land has been earmarked in Kashipur for another hospital.

The recruitment drive for an additional 47 medical officers is in its final phase, underscoring the government’s resolve to broaden and improve healthcare accessibility throughout Uttarakhand.

Officials in Attendance

Ayush and Ayush Education Minister Madan Kaushik also lauded the new hires, stating that the appointments will bolster departmental performance and extend health services across the region. The ceremony was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLAs Umesh Sharma Kau and Savita Kapoor, Labour Secretary Sridhar Babu Addanki, Secretary AYUSH and AYUSH Education Ranjana Rajguru, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Akanksha Konde and other senior officials.
