Muzaffarpur. In a rapid‑response operation close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables from the Kazimohammadpur police station detained two men found in possession of 80 grams of ganja. The detainees were escorted to the station, where Station House Officer Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded an FIR and set legal proceedings in motion.
Wider Sweep and Continuing Investigation
Following the arrests, officers carried out night‑time raids at several sites identified during the suspects’ interrogation. Investigators are now piecing together the information supplied by the arrestees to uncover a broader narcotics distribution network.
In the past few weeks, more than two dozen individuals have been apprehended across the region, with seizures that have included:
- Ganja (cannabis)
- Smack
- Heroin
- Brown sugar
Crackdown Spills Over into Vaishali
The anti‑narcotics drive has now extended into the neighbouring Vaishali district. Three days ago, police in Ahiyapur raided a location near the Bairiya Bus Stand, confiscating 28.06 kg of ganja and taking Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur into custody.
During subsequent questioning, officers learned of additional operatives based in Vaishali. Earlier this week, a joint task force seized 185 grams of heroin and smack from three alleged couriers near Chandni Chowk. The suspects—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, under Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been detained, and the probe continues to trace further links in the trafficking chain.
