Inspection of Ramnagar Tehsil’s Revenue Wing
Ramnagar. On Monday, Kumaon Divisional Commissioner Deepak Rawat conducted a thorough inspection of the Ramnagar Tehsil office. The visit focused on the current state of revenue operations, pending court matters, and issues affecting the general public.
Zero Tolerance for Unjustified Delays
While examining court‑pending cases, the Commissioner warned that no matter should linger without a legitimate cause. He instructed officials to hold regular hearings and to dispose of every case promptly, strictly adhering to procedural rules. Any unwarranted hold‑ups were ordered to be eliminated immediately.
Fast‑Track Land‑Use Applications (Section 143)
The Commissioner directed that all applications filed under Section 143, which pertain to land‑use conversions, be resolved within ten days. He stressed the need for transparency and urged staff to complete revenue‑related work within the prescribed timelines.
Mutation Files Rejected on the 35th Day
Noting a pattern of mutation files being turned down on the 35th day, the Commissioner expressed strong displeasure. He ordered an immediate explanation from the Tehsildar and reiterated that mutation cases must be examined and closed in accordance with the established rules and time limits.
‘Khurra’ Cases Stuck for Over Two Years
Cases labeled as ‘Khurra’ that have been pending for more than two years were also highlighted. The Commissioner directed that the responsible Patwaris provide detailed explanations for these prolonged delays.
Monitoring Mechanism and Public Convenience
To prevent citizens from repeatedly visiting government offices, the Commissioner tasked the Sub‑Divisional Magistrate (SDM) with continuous monitoring of all pending matters at the Tehsil level. He called for a streamlined workflow that guarantees swift and quality disposal of revenue issues.
Advocates’ Request for an Ahlmad
During the inspection, a group of advocates met the Commissioner, urging the posting of an Ahlmad at the Tehsil office. The Commissioner assured them that the appointment would be prioritized and appealed to the legal fraternity to help raise public awareness about mutation procedures.
Present at the event were Sub‑Divisional Magistrate Gopal Singh Chauhan, Tehsildar Manisha Makrana, along with other Tehsil officials and staff.
