Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the people of Uttarakhand yearn for both development and stability, and that his administration is steering the state’s growth to reflect that dual aspiration. He added that by foregrounding public‑welfare schemes, the government aims to let the fruits of progress reach every citizen, including those at the farthest margins.
The chief minister detailed the government’s priority agenda and ongoing projects at the ‘Uttarakhand: Development, Challenges, and the Road to 2027’ gathering, organised by the Adda Insider newspaper at a hotel on Rajpur Road.
‘Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third’ – The Guiding Mantra
Dhami reiterated that his party’s guiding maxim in public life is ‘Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third.’ He said this principle underpins the state’s development drive and informs every policy decision.
Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s close ties with Uttarakhand, Dhami noted that the prime minister has visited the state 28 times since taking office. He highlighted that the central government is also giving special attention to border‑area development, a focus that intensified after the prime minister described Mana as India’s ‘First Village.’
Tourism and Sustainable Growth – Uttarakhand’s Rising Trajectory
According to the chief minister, Uttarakhand is making steady headway across multiple sectors under the prime minister’s guidance. He pointed out that the state now tops the national Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index compiled by NITI Aayog and has earned notable recognition for its tourism offerings.
He also mentioned that Uttarakhand is carving a niche as a preferred destination for film shoots, adventure tourism and destination weddings.
Creating Jobs and Entrepreneurship Opportunities for Youth
Dhami echoed Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, stressing that young people will be pivotal in achieving that target. The state government, he said, is expanding avenues for education, skill‑building, formal employment and self‑employment for the youth.
Speaking about his rapport with young citizens, the chief minister said he prefers to converse with them as a friend rather than as a politician, noting that their ideas and aspirations invigorate his own commitment.
Ensuring Transparency in Public Recruitment
Highlighting the state’s push for openness in hiring, Dhami announced the implementation of a strict anti‑cheating law for government examinations. He said this measure has bolstered confidence among deserving and diligent candidates.
He disclosed that roughly 35,000 youngsters have been appointed to various government services over the past five years.
Reclaiming Over 13,000 Acres of Encroached Government Land
The chief minister reported ongoing efforts to safeguard Uttarakhand’s natural character by clearing illegal encroachments on state property. To date, more than 13,000 acres of government land have been liberated from unlawful occupation across the region.
He concluded that the administration’s goal is to extend development initiatives to the most remote corners of the state while simultaneously furnishing young people with platforms to thrive according to their talents and potential.
