Horrific Triple Homicide Shocks Vishnulok Colony

In the tranquil Raipur sector of Dehradun, a disturbing episode ended the lives of three people. The victims were 80‑year‑old Ramesh Kapoor, his 75‑year‑old wife Rajni Kapoor, and 48‑year‑old domestic aide Tiliya Devi, locally called Sheila. All three were discovered dead after a routine plumbing job spiralled into violence.

Police Account: Payment Dispute Turns Lethal

Investigators say the accused, a man identified as Rajkumar, was summoned to the Kapoor home for standard pipe repairs. Once the work was finished, a disagreement over the final amount allegedly erupted. The argument quickly escalated, resulting in a brutal assault on the senior couple. Sheila, who was attending to chores in a neighboring house, heard the shouting, rushed in to help, and was also attacked.

The trio was rushed to Coronation Hospital, where doctors confirmed they had already succumbed to their injuries.

Suspect Detained by Vigilant Residents

After the killings, Rajkumar tried to escape the neighbourhood. Alert locals intercepted him and handed him over to the police. Authorities identified the suspect as a resident of Bijnor who had been staying in Indresh Nagar, Dehradun, and who was familiar with the Kapoor household due to frequent visits.

He is now in police custody while officers reconstruct the chain of events that turned a payment row into a triple homicide.

Community Reaction: Heightened Fear and Outrage

The triple killing has left Vishnulok Colony reeling. Women, senior citizens and other residents gathered near the scene, expressing deep shock and a growing sense of insecurity. The Kapoor couple were well‑known for their friendliness, making the loss even more unsettling.

Locals pointed out that inviting plumbers, electricians and domestic workers into homes is a routine practice, especially for older occupants. This tragedy has prompted many families to rethink the safety of granting regular access to service providers.

Calls for Stronger Law Enforcement

Neighborhood members are urging the police to conduct a thorough investigation and pursue stringent legal action if the allegations are proven. Several senior residents have also appealed for increased patrolling, noting that Vishnulok Colony has traditionally been a peaceful enclave.

Sheila’s death adds another layer of sorrow; she was a familiar presence in the Kapoor household and had previously worked for them. Her relatives arrived at the hospital after learning of the incident.

Investigation Ongoing

Law enforcement continues to probe the case, while the community remains on edge, awaiting further updates and assurances of safety.
