Dehradun. The next milestone of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ programme, aimed at amplifying youth involvement in the state’s progress, is set for 18 September. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will sit down with 140 hand‑picked students from across Uttarakhand to hear their visions for the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’
Beyond the one‑on‑one dialogue with the Chief Minister, senior IAS officers and heads of key departments have been instructed to engage the students as well. These officials will convene with the youngsters beforehand, digging deeper into the proposals they have submitted.
Over 2.67 Lakh Young Voices Heard
Roughly three hundred thousand Class‑11 and Class‑12 pupils participated in the campaign. A total of 267,744 submissions poured in through the online portal, covering topics such as education, jobs, tourism, environment, migration, technology, health, and self‑employment.
A panel of experts shortlisted 140 candidates based on the originality and impact of their suggestions. These students now have the chance to present their ideas straight to the Chief Minister.
Departmental Leaders to Join the Conversation
To bridge youthful insight with policy, officials from Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development will meet the students.
During these sessions, the officers will probe the participants’ perspectives on development pathways, employment prospects, and the broader future of Uttarakhand.
Scholarships Up to ₹2 Lakh for the Selected 140
Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ scheme, each of the 140 chosen scholars will be awarded a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh to support career preparation and coaching after Class 12. The financial aid was announced by CM Dhami as a reward for the most compelling and thoughtful ideas.
Embedding Youth Ideas into State Policies
Chief Minister Dhami affirmed that the administration will strive to weave the valuable suggestions received from students into existing government schemes and future policies. He stressed that tapping into the creativity of young people is essential for shaping Uttarakhand’s development trajectory.
The 18 September gathering marks a pivotal chapter in the initiative, giving the selected students a platform to voice their dreams directly to the Chief Minister and engage with senior bureaucrats on a range of development challenges.
