Metro stations sealed
As a precautionary step before the upcoming rally at Jantar Mantar, authorities have prohibited passenger ingress and egress at eleven Delhi Metro stations. The closures affect Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Lok Kalyan Marg, INA, Chawri Bazar, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg and New Delhi. While platform gates stay shut, the interchange passages at many of these nodes remain open for commuters to switch lines.
Police reinforce presence
Delhi Police have dispatched additional personnel around Jantar Mantar and its surroundings, installed barricades at vulnerable points, and amplified surveillance and security screenings. The city administration has also imposed restrictive directives for the New Delhi district.
Traffic advisories
The Delhi Traffic Police warn of severe congestion on routes leading to Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, Patel Chowk and Sansad Marg. Motorists are urged to plan alternative pathways before entering the affected corridors.
What lies ahead?
The station shutdowns are part of a wider security blueprint. Officials will keep a close watch on the situation and may modify access rules if circumstances change.
