Fatal Incident in Parsokha Village
On Thursday evening, four‑year‑old Ansh Chaudhary was out playing close to his house in the hamlet of Parsokha, which falls under the Kotwali police area of Maihar district, Madhya Pradesh. He wandered to the rim of an uncovered septic tank that still contained standing water and, in an instant, fell in.
Immediate Rescue Efforts
Nearby residents and family members rushed to the scene, managed to pull the child from the tank and whisked him to the nearest medical facility. Despite the doctors’ swift intervention, Ansh could not be revived, leaving his family devastated and the neighbourhood in stunned silence.
Police Probe Initiated
The Kotwali police arrived promptly, filing a case of accidental death. Investigators are now examining why the septic tank was left exposed, whether any protective barriers existed, and what lapses may have contributed to this tragedy.
Demand for Safer Community Infrastructure
This sorrowful episode has revived long‑standing worries about uncovered septic tanks and open pits in residential zones. Local citizens are calling on authorities to ensure such hazards are properly sealed, especially in areas where children play, as the investigation continues and the community seeks preventive solutions.
