Dehradun. To celebrate his birthday on Wednesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a special visit to the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD). He spent the afternoon cutting a cake with the institute’s students and sharing laughter and encouragement.
The youngsters greeted the chief minister with evident excitement. Dhami interacted warmly, praised their talents, and wished each of them a future filled with opportunities and success. The institute resonated with a spirit of togetherness and affection.
Speaking about the potential of every child, Dhami emphasized that talent flourishes when the right support, confidence, and chances are provided. He underscored that empowering persons with disabilities is a collective duty—not only of the government but of society at large.
He urged the students to chase their aspirations with self‑belief, perseverance, and consistent effort. Dhami reminded everyone that ensuring equal opportunities, dignity, and a nurturing environment is a shared responsibility.
“Spending time with these children recharges me,” the chief minister reflected, adding that their love and bright smiles are the most memorable gifts he could receive on his birthday.
Accompanying him were his wife, Smt. Geeta Pushkar Dhami, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, and several teachers from the institute.
