Raipur. Across Chhattisgarh the air has grown distinctly drier as the southwest monsoon pulls further away. With little active weather, the state enjoys abundant sunshine during the day, and the evenings are turning noticeably cooler.
Current Weather Overview
The state meteorological department reports an absence of any significant weather system over the region. As a result, most districts are expected to remain dry for the coming days. Unobstructed skies and strong solar insolation push daytime temperatures upward, while a gentle dip follows sunset.
Temperature Highlights
In the past 24 hours, Rajnandgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature of 35 °C. At the opposite extreme, Ambikapur saw the lowest minimum temperature of 18 °C. No weather alerts have been issued for any part of the state.
Regional Variations
Although the afternoon heat is felt across the state, inhabitants of the Bastar and Surguja divisions note a mild, pleasant chill once the sun goes down. The northern and southern fringe districts are experiencing the most comfortable night‑time conditions.
Monsoon Withdrawal Impact
The ongoing retreat of the southwest monsoon is the chief factor behind the shifting pattern. With the monsoon moving farther away, atmospheric conditions are becoming increasingly conducive to dry spells throughout most districts.
Outlook
Forecasters anticipate the dry spell to linger as the monsoon season draws to a close. The contrast between day and night temperatures will sharpen, bringing warm, sunny afternoons and cooler, more pleasant evenings. At present, there are no signs of any major weather disturbance affecting Chhattisgarh.
