Armed Senior Breaches Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College
On Thursday, a senior pupil managed to enter Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College in Muzaffarnagar under the guise of settling his tuition fees. He bypassed the locked main gate, moved straight to a classroom where a Class 10 learner was seated, and produced a makeshift pistol.
Gunfire Echoes Through the Hall
Inside the room the teenager allegedly pulled the trigger. The shot missed its intended target, but the sharp bang reverberated throughout the building, sending students and staff into a state of alarm. Principal Anurag Jain, accompanied by several teachers, rushed in to confront the assailant, who briefly aimed the weapon at the principal as well.
What Sparked the Violence?
According to the accused, the younger student and a few of his friends had insulted and physically assaulted him earlier in the week. Police suspect the shooting was a retaliatory act for an incident in which the Class 10 group allegedly struck the senior with sticks two days prior.
Staff De‑escalate and Secure the Weapon
Through measured dialogue, the teachers succeeded in disarming the shooter and securing the pistol along with two cartridges. Law enforcement arrived shortly thereafter, seized the weapon, and placed the suspect in custody for further questioning.
Principal’s View on Campus Safety
Principal Jain noted that the student’s claim of coming to pay fees lowered initial suspicion, as the college gates are locked once students are inside, limiting escape routes. He commended the swift actions of the faculty, which averted a potentially tragic outcome.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators are now piecing together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. The Class 10 student emerged unharmed, and the case remains under active police scrutiny.
