Accident Summary

A south‑bound sleeper coach heading from Srinagar to Jammu lost stability and rolled over on the Jammu‑Srinagar National Highway (NH‑44) close to Marog in the Ramban district. The bus was carrying a total of 55 occupants at the time of the incident.

Injuries Reported

The crash left 33 individuals hurt. Hospital data indicates that 29 men and four women required medical attention. Among those injured, 32 were tourists from West Bengal and one was a Nepali national.

Medical Assistance

All the injured passengers were initially taken to the District Hospital in Ramban for emergency care. Nine patients, whose conditions were deemed critical, were later transferred to the Government Medical College in Jammu, where doctors continue to oversee their recovery.

Rescue Operations

Following the report of the mishap, police, rescue teams and district officials rushed to the scene. Coordinated by senior traffic and district officers, the operation successfully extricated the passengers and cleared the wreckage.

Traffic Impact

The toppled bus blocked the Jammu‑bound lane of NH‑44 for several hours, causing a temporary slowdown. After the vehicle was removed, normal traffic flow resumed.
