Chandigarh — During a recent delegation to Singapore, Haryana’s chief minister Nayab Singh Saini turned the trip into a platform to promote investment possibilities that extend far beyond the state’s flagship business hub, Gurugram.
On the third day of the visit, Saini sat down with representatives from over a dozen companies, urging them to consider projects ranging from cutting‑edge manufacturing to next‑generation infrastructure.
Emerging Cities in the Spotlight
The administration aims to replicate a slice of Gurugram’s thriving tech ecosystem in other locales. Panchkula, Karnal, Hisar, Sonipat and Rohtak are being earmarked as future centers for technology‑driven enterprises and multinational firms.
Officials contend that these towns offer a blend of skilled labor, robust connectivity, cost‑effective operations and rapidly improving urban services—an appealing proposition for investors.
Priority Sectors Highlighted
Talks in Singapore underscored several focus areas: semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, green‑energy solutions, data‑centre construction, advanced production lines, warehousing, and digital‑infrastructure services.
Saini emphasized Haryana’s strategic position within the Delhi‑NCR, its established industrial base and seamless road‑and‑freight networks as decisive benefits for companies targeting northern India.
The state is also courting Singaporean firms to launch technology hubs, global capability centers, and related operations within its borders.
Data‑Centre Policy 2026 Receives Special Emphasis
Data infrastructure emerged as a pivotal theme. Haryana has introduced a New Data Centre Policy‑2026 intended to simplify land allocation, power provisioning, ancillary facilities and regulatory clearances for data‑centre developments.
The overarching aim is to cultivate a more investor‑friendly climate that speeds up the deployment of large‑scale data facilities.
Logistics and Infrastructure Advantages
Haryana is leveraging its extensive web of expressways, national highways, industrial corridors and freight hubs to strengthen its pitch to global investors.
Because the state sits between major manufacturing and consumption zones in North India, officials argue it naturally supports logistics and supply‑chain activities. Singapore’s expertise in logistics and urban planning could unlock joint initiatives.
Accelerated Government Assistance
Saini reassured prospective investors that the Haryana government would provide hands‑on support at every stage of project implementation, from proposal evaluation to on‑ground execution.
Faster approval timelines and dedicated administrative assistance are being promoted as hallmarks of the state’s drive to become a more competitive destination for foreign business.
Job Creation at the Core
The investment drive is not solely about attracting capital; it also seeks to create meaningful employment for local youth and to stimulate demand for industry‑relevant skills.
Through its outreach in Singapore, Haryana hopes to broaden its industrial footprint beyond Gurugram, forging stronger international partnerships that accelerate technology adoption, manufacturing growth and infrastructure development across the region.
