First Look: A Sandstorm of Suspense
The debut teaser of Dhood (Sandstorm) has just gone live, offering a tantalising glimpse of a story that fuses the vivid cultural canvas of Rajasthan with a high‑octane psychological thriller. Crafted by writer‑director Anand Singh Chouhan, the clip plunges viewers into a world where familial ambition, power plays, and age‑old customs collide against the stark, sun‑baked dunes of the early‑1990s.
Rajasthan as a Living Character
Rather than treating the locale as mere backdrop, Dhood weaves the state’s geography, rituals, and daily rhythms directly into its plot. Set in 1990s Rajasthan, the narrative threads nail‑biting twists through the social fabric of a deeply traditional community.
Yashpal Sharma Leads a Powerful Ensemble
Veteran performer Yashpal Sharma anchors the cast, sharing the screen with Alka Amin, Bhawani Singh Chouhan, Vivek Pareek, Praveen Choudhary, and Vanikki Tyagi. Their tangled relationships drive the film’s tension, delivering a cocktail of drama, mystery, and raw emotion amid the iconic dunes.
Behind the Scenes and Soundscape
The production is backed by Samar Jain, Narendra Krishania, Mukesh Pareek, D.S. Chouhan, and Abhishek Chopra. Composer Mehul Surti supplies an atmospheric score that heightens the suspense while echoing the desert’s haunting silence. The picture is presented by Kalam Academy and Samar Jain under the Soul of Desert banner, in collaboration with Studio Ainak.
Release Schedule
Miraj Cinemas will roll out Dhood across India on 23 October 2026, marking a bold push for Rajasthani‑language cinema onto the national stage. By marrying regional heritage with thriller conventions, the film aspires to share Rajasthan’s storytelling spirit with audiences far beyond its borders.
