New Delhi. Early Monday morning a wave of threatening emails claiming bomb plots landed in the inboxes of several schools across Delhi, compelling principals to activate emergency procedures and empty the premises of pupils and personnel.

Threats spread across several institutions

Among the schools targeted were Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate and Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Vasant Vihar, along with a handful of other institutions dotted along the Lutyens’ Delhi corridor. Although the messages were received at dawn, school administrators only became aware of the danger between 11 a.m. and noon.

Swift action by police and fire departments

Upon verification of the alerts, each campus immediately alerted the Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Services, setting their crisis‑management protocols into motion. Students and teachers were escorted out of the buildings as a precaution while specialist units arrived on site.

Bomb disposal teams and sniffer dogs deployed

Police units equipped with bomb‑detection experts and sniffer‑dog squads descended on the affected schools. Fire‑department crews were also dispatched; the Delhi Fire Services control room recorded a call regarding the Vasant Vihar school at approximately 12:30 p.m., prompting a fire tender and personnel to assist with the evacuation.

Thorough anti‑sabotage sweeps were carried out throughout the facilities. At the time of reporting, investigators confirmed that no explosive devices or suspicious materials had been found.

Parents kept informed

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya quickly notified parents that all students had been safely evacuated and that classes would only resume once authorities gave clearance.

The incident echoes a similar wave of bomb‑threat emails received by the same school and a few other Delhi institutions about two weeks earlier, during the exam period, which also triggered extensive security checks.

Police and intelligence agencies continue to analyse the latest emails and trace their source, while schools throughout the city remain on heightened vigilance.
